In the early hours of March 3, 2026, the total lunar eclipse corresponded with a full moon to create the unusual opportunity to see the blood moon, a phenomenon that occurs when the only light reflecting off the moon is longer, wavelengths that are refracted by the earth’s atmosphere.
From 1:30am-3:30am in my Berkeley backyard, I captured over 250 images to create this composite photograph documenting the progression of the moon toward totality.

About Me
Earlier in my career when studying for a PhD in Environmental Health, I came to understand just how deeply time in nature supports our well-being. Through my photography, I strive to bring the natural world into your home with the goal of inspiring everyone to step outside a bit more everyday. In each image, I try to capture the power of the natural world to heal, teach, and connect us.
